Frequently Asked Questions

How does ChromaCode work?

A hidden code of 5 colors is generated each day. Submit your guess and each slot gives feedback: green check means exact match, yellow arrow means the color is in the code but at a different position, and grey X means the color is not in the code at all.

What do the difficulty levels change?

Easy uses 8 distinct colors, Medium uses 16, and Hard uses 24 closely related hues. The number of guess slots (5) and attempts (6) stay the same.

Is the daily puzzle the same for everyone?

Yes. The daily code is generated from the UTC date, so every player worldwide gets the same puzzle each day.

Can I play more than once a day?

Switch to Unlimited mode for endless randomly generated puzzles. Your daily streak only counts the Daily puzzle.

What Is ChromaCode?

ChromaCode is a daily color-code puzzle where you crack a hidden row of five color swatches in six tries. Inspired by the classic Mastermind board game and Wordle's daily format, it combines color perception with logical deduction. Three difficulty levels — Easy, Medium, and Hard — let beginners and color experts alike find the right challenge.

How to Play ChromaCode

Tap each slot in the current row to select it, then tap a color swatch in the palette below to fill it. Once all five slots are filled, hit Submit to reveal the feedback. A green check means exact match, a yellow arrow means the color exists in the code but at a different position, and a grey X means it is not in the code at all. Use the clues to narrow down the code within six guesses.

Why Color Puzzles Train Your Brain

Color perception is a surprisingly trainable cognitive skill. Distinguishing close hues under time pressure exercises visual attention and working memory simultaneously. Regular color puzzle play has been linked to sharper noticing of fine chromatic differences in everyday life, and the logical deduction layer adds a strategic dimension that keeps the challenge engaging well beyond the first few games.
